Greeting Cards

The ritual of sending greeting cards can be up to the early Chinese, the exchanged messages of good will to bring in each new year being monitored, and the ancient Egyptians, shared their good wishes on papyrus scrolls.

However, I greet only part of the tradition of many cultures, for about two centuries or more been a little 'cards, to be exact. The paper identified the oldest greeting card is made Valentine's Day in 1400, located in a museum in London. It 'was during19th Century, the salute was played for real. John Calcott Horsley was the architect of the first Christmas card, and Louis Prang came to be known as the father of Christmas greetings. He emigrated from Germany and started a small lithographic units near Boston in1850 and is usually responsible for initiating the production of greeting cards in the United States.

His lithographic techniques, including color was so perfect that it had no competition for artists and craftsmen. In 1870 he was with exclusive editions of Christmas cards, which were a success in Britain.

In the mid-1870, presented the first complete range of Christmas greetings to the American public. Soon after, he began to counterfeitengulf the market and forcing Prang activity. after almost two decades, there has been a marked deterioration in the production of greeting cards in America. a revolution took place - things that have been around something like a greeting card business of gold was revealed to the world.

Today, there are paper cards in any size and for any occasion. There are also e-cards and digital postcards.
